Ingredients:
2 cups self-raising flour
1 cup caster sugar
125 g butter, softened
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¾ cup milk
A pinch of salt
Procedure:
Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round cake tin.
Place the butter and sugar into a large bowl and beat until light and creamy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each egg.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
Add the self-raising flour and salt to the mixture
Pour in the milk and mix until the batter is smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and spread it evenly.
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before serving
