Today we will be making pizza. If you try this fantastic and unique recipe, you will make the best pizza. It will be simple and easy to make, and you can modify it to what you like. Follow these steps and soon you’ll have a warm, mouth-melting dish sitting in front of you!
Here are all the ingredients you need to make the dough:
- 2 and ¼ tablespoons of yeast
- 1 and ⅓ cups of water the temperature should be 100°F to 110°F
- 1 and ½ cups of unbleached all-purpose flour
- A few tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- cornmeal
- small amount of salt
- 1 teaspoon of garlic (optional)
- Italian seasoning (optional)
First of all, add yeast to a bowl, then add warm water to cut down on rise time. Add the flour to the bowl. (If you don’t have the type of flour the recipe calls for, (you can substitute it with bread flour for a chewier crust.). Also, if you want (you don’t need to), you could add one teaspoon of garlic powder and Italian seasoning while adding the flour. Some olive oil would add terrific flavour to the pizza. Put the rest of the ingredients in the bowl. Mix it by hand or use a handheld mixer. It would take about five to eight minutes to do it by hand, but it would take three to four minutes to do it with a mixer.
Once your flour mixture is well combined, knead your dough by hand or with a mixer (kneading is usually the process of working the dough and trying to create a smooth, elastic texture). It would take ten to twelve minutes to knead it by hand, and it would take eight to ten minutes to do it with a mixer. Punch down risen dough to release air bubbles, then divide the dough into two and cut out a twelve inch circle, cover the pizza and let it rest then start to prepare your pizza toppings.
Now your pizza is ready for the sauce and cheese. Prepare the ingredients for the sauce and cheese:
- Tomato sauce
- mozzarella cheese
- parmesan cheese (optional)
Grab a clean spoon and squirt tomato sauce on it until the spoon is full, then place the tomato sauce on the pizza base with the spoon and spread it around the pizza. If you have a mozzarella cheese block (or parmesan) , use a grater to make the cheese into small pieces and sprinkle it onto your pizza base evenly (you have to do it evenly in order to get cheese at every place on your pizza).
Toppings are really important and these are the ones you’ll be using:
- Herbs
- Any type of meat (optional)
- Veggies
With the herbs and veggies, you can evenly place them on the pizza (with clean hands), but if you don’t like them chunky and big you can rip them into smaller pieces and place them on the pizza. When you are ready, place your meat (pepperoni, chicken, and any meat you’d like) evenly around your pizza. Once all the steps are finished, place your pizza in the oven at 475°F to 500°F and close the oven. Wait for about fifteen minutes for your pizza to cook and once that’s finished, enjoy your cheesy and homemade pizza!
