Vietnam!

Have you ever gotten a chance to visit just one country that has a cave full of towering stalactites and stalagmites? How about trying a sandwich called Banh Mi? Have you ever met any warm, welcoming people before? If you haven’t yet, then maybe Vietnam is your best bet.

Landmarks

This country has a cave called Sung Sot Cave. It can only be found in Vietnam, with a whopping size of 10,000 square meters; that’s twice the size of the White House.

There is also this historic place in Vietnam called Chi Minh. Chi Minh was the home and workplace of the President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. The Vietnam War happened between 1955 and 1975.

Culture

Vietnam has a rich culture. That is one thing that they are known for. There are lots of traditional Vietnamese festivals. The Perfume Pagoda Festival is one of the most legendary events in Vietnam and it is set back to the 16th century. This festival takes place each year during the first three months of winter.

Food

Vietnam’s food is one of the attractions. There is Pho, a type of noodle topped with coriander and beef or chicken.

Banh Mi is also a famous dish. It looks like a sandwich in Subway® but it is actually traditional. It has a baguette for the base, Vietnamese ham, pork, and chicken for the protein, and to make it traditional, the mint and the soy sauce.

Egg coffee is one drink that originated from Vietnam. Sometimes the egg coffee is served inside a bowl of hot water or set upon a small candle to keep a hold of its temperature.

Rice paper rolls have a rich taste with fresh flavours. This side dish is served with Vietnamese peanut dipping sauce. Inside, there is prawn or sometimes chicken. It also has vermicelli noodles, rice paper wrappers, and most importantly, mint.

Religion

Lots of people that live in Vietnam are Buddhists. 55% are Buddhist, while Catholics represent about 7% of the population. For Buddhism, the goal is to remove confusion and reach Nirvana, which is freedom from desire.

Conclusion

Vietnam is an amazing country with cool landmarks; their food is delicious. Vietnam also has fun festivals and rich culture, especially with many Buddhists.

Who knows what else Vietnamese can think of? More popular landmarks? More unique Vietnamese cuisine recipes? There’s still lots more to learn about Vietnam.
