Day And Night

Night And Day - Bubots

Why Do We Have Day And Night?

We have night and day because the Earth spins around on its axis. The Earth started spinning a very long time ago when it was made, and it keeps spinning all the time because nothing in space can stop it from spinning.

Why Does The Earth Spin?

The Earth spins because it started turning a long time ago when it was made from dust and rocks that spin. When the Earth formed, it kept spinning, and it hasn’t stopped since. It keeps spinning all the time because nothing in space is strong enough to stop it. This is why we have day and night every day.

When Do We Have Night And Day?

We get a day when our part of the Earth is facing the Sun and we can see its light. We get night when our part of the Earth turns away from the Sun and it becomes dark. The Earth keeps turning, so day and night happen again and again. That’s why we have daytime and nighttime every day.

How Long Is One Full Rotation?

The Earth takes 24 hours to spin all the way around one time. This spinning is called a rotation, and it happens on an invisible line called the axis. The rotation makes the sun and moon look like it moves across the sky each day. Because of this, we see morning, afternoon and evening everyday.
