A Letter to My Future Self

“Enjoy moments before they become memories.” This quote reminds us to cherish the present so that we can look back at the past with no regrets. Inspired by this quote, my class decided to put together a time capsule that will be opened in 2096. One thing that I would put inside the time capsule is a letter dedicated to my future self.

Writing a letter to myself will remind me of the memories I have set aside, who I once was, and how far I’ve improved as a person. I would write about what makes me happy now, what I look forward to, and a list of everything that I have learned so far. Such as the moments I share with people I get along with, life in senior high school, and new experiences that push me to become a better person.

Writing this letter will act as a bridge from the past to the present and a symbol of hope for the version of myself in 2096. It will help me preserve the times of my youth and remind me of the moments that shaped me to become the person I am. Like the good times I share with my classmates, friends, and family.

Things may change but the times I enjoyed most will forever remain in my heart. In the past, I never got to fully appreciate the time I was given. Although this is just a simple letter, it will also serve as a reminder for me to spend my time wisely, do the things that I enjoy the most, and live my life to the fullest. I only have limited time to live just like everyone, so I might as well live without regrets.
