Given the popularity of the genres KPOP and Western pop, some people wonder which is better. Before we could get to that question, we should know the difference between KPOP and Western Pop.
An Overview of KPOP and Western Pop
KPOP is a famous pop music genre from Korea that was invented in 1992. This genre took the world by storm due to their songs’ catchy and joyful vibes. They’re an industry known for their impressive and creative MVs, or music videos, due to their production, compared to Western Pop.
Some of the most famous KPOP groups are BTS, BLACKPINK, Stray Kids (SKZ), SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, IVE, and RED VELVET.
On the other hand, Western Pop is another pop music genre that originated in the USA and Great Britain and was invented in the mid-1950s.
Artists like Justin Timberlake, Ariana Grande, Backstreet Boys, The Weeknd, Little Mix, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift, and Bruno Mars are some of the most popular.
People enjoy this genre because it is typically about love, relationships, and feelings.
Training Systems
KPOP is known for its training system, which is quite extreme and extensive. KPOP is more into intensive singing and dancing, so it is gaining more attention.
Western Pop has a training system, too, but it’s less intensive than it was compared to KPOP.
Which is better?
Some people say that KPOP is so much better than pop. Others say the opposite. Some say both, and there were also people who were unsure about which was best between the two.
Talk about Western Pop; what do they have in store for us? Their songs are frequently rhythmic and easy, and they have a strong focus on melody and harmony, which is amazing. But how did it get so boring all of a sudden to people?
According to my research, it was due to the commercialization of the industry, the changes in producing pop music, and the lack of musical innovation and experimentation in the genre.
In my opinion, the reason it got boring to people is because of the lack of creativity in making music videos compared to KPOP. It has been getting a little boring these days because some of them are vibrant and a little bit dull at the same time. But again, I’m not saying that they’re bad. They’re still good.
Now back to that first question that I asked when I started writing this. Which music industry is better? Both of them sounded great. I respect your opinion if you think that KPOP or Western Pop is better, but you shouldn’t just hate on these two. Both of these industries did well in producing music, and overall, there were no flaws in them. Remember that not all music or things are perfect.
