What Happens During an Eclipse?

An eclipse happens when a planet or moon blocks the sun’s light. Two types of eclipses can occur on Earth. As the moon covers more of the sun, it gets darker outside.

What are the two types of Eclipse?

The two types are called solar and lunar eclipses. The solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun, casting a shadow on Earth. On the other hand, when the lunar eclipse is here, the Earth passes between the sun and the moon, casting a shadow on the moon. Lunar eclipses occur during a full moon.

What happens during an Eclipse?

During an eclipse, the moon passes between the sun and Earth, blocking some or all of the sun’s light. Also, during a total eclipse, the entire sun is covered for a few minutes and becomes very dark outside. Earth is the only planet in our solar system with a moon that’s the right size and distance to cause striking solar eclipses.

How does the eclipse affect us?

A solar eclipse can affect people in at least two ways. Firstly, it can damage your eyes, making them blind or blurry. It can also give you a headache when looking directly at it.

What can you do to prevent being affected by an eclipse?

Don’t look directly at the sun unless you are wearing sunglasses. It can also permanently damage your vision without you feeling it. Attach a solar filter to your camera’s lens to take pictures of the eclipse. Also, wear sunscreen, a hat, and protective clothing, and ensure you use your eye protection correctly.
