What is the importance of eating healthy food, and how can it help us? Eating healthy food can help us by providing us with nutrients to grow and energy to learn. Healthy food can give us vitamins and minerals, dairy, protein, and starchy carbohydrates. What can they do, and why are they important?
What are vitamins and minerals, and why are they important?
Vitamin A helps us with our vision. We can have it in carrots, apricots, and savoy cabbage. Vitamin B1 gives us plenty of energy to grow. The vitamins and minerals we need can be found in peas, spinach, and mushrooms. While vitamin C can be found in citrus fruits such as oranges and lemons, it can also be found in strawberries, tomatoes, and broccoli. There are other things vitamins can do for us, like heal our injuries and wounds. You can see how vital vitamins are for our body. The fruits and vegetables we eat are essential fiber sources, which keep our digestive system healthy and robust.
Why is dairy essential?
Dairy gives us protein and calcium. Our bones are almost filled with calcium, which makes them strong. Why should we have strong bones? Our bones keep our bodies upright. They also protect our insides. With the help of our muscles, our skeletons can also help us move. Cabbage and tofu are some of the healthy foods that have dairy in them. We must eat these foods often to keep our bones healthy.
Why do our bodies need protein?
Protein can heal our wounds, protect us from diseases, build our muscles, and help us breathe. They are like the building blocks of our bodies. They watch our hair, nails, skin, muscles, and organs, such as our heart.
Other proteins protect us from diseases by attacking germs and bacteria that might make us ill. Some proteins even help us breathe by carrying oxygen around our body. Because protein is essential for our body, we should always eat foods high in protein, like fish, ham, and beef, every day.
What can give us loads of energy for sports and games? Starchy carbohydrates! You can find them in rice, noodles, cereal, and porridge. They can also be in wheat, oats, and corn. Potatoes, cassava, and yams also have starchy carbohydrates. Eating whole potatoes with the skin will give us all the carbohydrates we need its that will help us to be active every day.
Now that we know about healthy foods and what they can do to our bodies, we should start eating more of them. These foods can give us a healthy, balanced diet.
