The Four Death Sentences

Jake, Steve and Bob were always bored during the holiday and had nothing to do. Until one day, when Jake heard some fake rumors and, being gullible, believed it. So, he told everyone about what he heard.

“We should visit this place,” suggested Jake.

“Agreed,” said the other two, excited to have this trip.

They convinced their parents to let them go. Just by luck, their parents let them go. On the condition that they do all the chores for 1 Week.

On the day of the adventure, they gathered at the entrance. They waited for each other’s presence. The brothers went onward. Until they stumble upon 4 different paths:
No 1. A lush and viridescent path with a virulent gas at the end
No 2. A deep abyssal chasm,
No 3. A long and difficult obstacle course with a risk of your life (Falling onto sharp spikes and the blood pouring out like a volcano), the reward is a safe path.
No 4. A huge, old and mossy maze with a dozen traps.

Obviously, the friends chose path 1 considering the front is lush. They sought to turn back but it was too late. A bear was approaching; they had to run swiftly to avoid getting mauled.

They ran to the end, and as a noxious gas approached them, they passed out. Turns out, there was someone nearby with protective gear who stopped his ‘pet’ bear from mauling them to death and rushed them to hospital, completely forgetting about his pet bear.

At the hospital, they lay down unconscious as the doctors tried to revive them. They were successful in doing so, but they were struck with a life-long disease. The brothers learnt their lesson not to listen to false rumors and headed home, but oh no! They missed their favourite food for dinner, completely forgetting about what happened and went on with their week-long chores session.
