Somewhere In Boston, Massachusetts, there was a little boy named James. He is a young boy of an age around nine years old who has a messy faded brown haircut and deep blue eyes, he has a fair skin tone with his usual black striped pajama on with a blue shirt. Today, he woke up at six thirty AM. He realized that it is his first day of school. He became a little scared. He didn’t want to go to school because of his past. He recalled his memory, and his thoughts drifted towards a picture of James when he was younger, around six to seven years old.
James can see his imagination, an image of him who he found himself who used to be a shy little boy and had a fear of tight spaces. He looks younger in his past than he is right now, having the same appearance before he started aging more, His head was casually lowered, his small short legs are buckled together that were shaking nervously as he looked at the students around him frantically while he was walking through the hallways in an almost nervous way. Along with a fear of crowds/pupils around him when it comes to public school. He didn’t usually like talking or interacting with others out of curiosity in his old kindergarten school Because he felt uncomfortable around them, but he would rather prefer to talk with at least two or one person so that it’ll work. So then his imagination erased from his memory, leaving him there with a shock nostalgia he had experienced in his mind.
He thought that he didn’t have enough confidence to make new friends at his first day because he was an introvert. What if he embarrasses himself in front of the whole school? What will the students think of him? Will they become friends with him? Well, It’s time for James to find out sooner or later!
James’ went downstairs in an almost awkward or sad way. Looking down. He was feeling scared to prepare for the day. He saw his mother and father cooking breakfast for him. James’ mother has blonde, yellow-gold hair and a medium height. She wore jeans, a simple red shirt, and blue slippers. On the other hand, his father, a tall muscular man, had a light skin tone, black spiky hair, and a mustache. He wore a blue shirt with black pants.
He then began the conversation by speaking nervously to his parents.
“Good morning, Mom; good morning, Dad. I think I’m not ready to go to school yet..”
His mother replied with a concerned tone, “Good morning, James. Why don’t you want to go to school? Is there something wrong?”
James replied in a sad voice yet again.
“Because there are too many people. I don’t want to go.”
After a few moments of silence, his father replied in an encouraging voice as he sighed.
“Son, I know you used to be scared around other peoples when you were young, your mom and I understands that school must be hard for you to face some challenges like this because of your young age. But trust me when I tell you that it isn’t going to be as bad as you think. Just take it easy, son. Try interacting with someone you haven’t known yet. It’s okay to be shy when you talk to someone for the first time, but as long as you keep your friendly manner there, you will be a strong young man, brave enough to face your fears. Not all students are bad and bullies; all you need to believe is your faith that is inside of your heart. I know you can do it son, your mom and i loves you, remember that, and we are always here to support you no matter how hard facing something you never experienced is like. You can always come and tell us if you have problems nor need help with something and we can deal with it and help you progress your milestone with all our love, support, and care, we’re sure that you are going to do great!”
After James has heard his father’s deep encouragement. he became slightly surprised as he replied in a surprised voice
“Really? You think I’m going to do great?” James replied in surprise.
Both of his parents smiled at him as they nodded their heads. James happily cheered and started jumping around as he prepared his school bag, items, etc.
One hour later, James was at his new school. He had prepared himself in a proper manner. James has a faded brown haircut. He wore a blue uniform collar and black-gray pants, along with black school shoes for young men like him. He had a blue-and-red watch on his right arm. His height was slightly small due to his age.
As James walked to his new classroom, he saw his new teacher. She was about in her 30s or mid-30s. She had a beautiful appearance. She wore a black formal skirt, a white shirt, and a red bowtie. A leather jacket and black high-heeled shoes. Her face was beautiful.
Then she spoke in a calm voice.
“Hello everyone! I would like you to meet someone new today. Everyone, please welcome James.”
The teacher then looked back at the left side of James, smiling contentedly, before giving him a hand sign to come in front and introduce himself to everyone.
James was scared, but he knew he had to do it in front of everyone so that he can show that he wasn’t shy at all. He went into the front and began speaking in a fake, confident tone.
“Hello everyone! My name is James.” he said with a nervous chuckle before he continued his speech. “I am nine years old. I was born in Boston, USA, and my hobbies are drawing, writing, dancing, and playing!”
When he finished his introduction, the atmosphere went silent all of a sudden.
The young students looked at him with a curious and intrigued expression. They were still taking their time to process their thoughts about him until the teacher spoke and broke the silence.
“It’s nice to meet you, James, we are SO glad you came to join us today. Let me introduce myself to you. I am Miss Kelly. I’m thirty-one years old, and I’ll be your English teacher today! And James, please don’t forget; if you have a question, don’t hesitate to ask. You can go and take your seat before our lesson starts. I just need to get my materials ready.” Miss Kelly said in a sweet voice as she went to her desk to prepare her materials to start the day.
In the meantime, James took a seat at the end, where he met two boys sitting beside him, they were rather young, like James’ age. The boy on the right wore a polo blue shirt with small beige pants and white sneakers. He had small blonde eyes, blonde hair, and a fair skin tone. The boy on the left wore a red polo shirt and blue casual shorts. He had white socks and black shoes. He had black eyes, and his skin tone was also light and fair.
The two young boys then noticed James sitting beside them. One of the young men in the right spoke in an almost whispered voice. “Psst, you must be the new student, right?” said the boy on the right.
James got startled as he quickly turned around, only to see the boy looking at him in a friendly gaze.
As soon as he saw one of them who didn’t mean to actually harm him, he sighed in relief as he spoke back in a nervous whispered voice. “Uh… yeah? Is there a problem?” he replied.
The boy on the right then spoke in a calm whispered voice, “It’s nice to meet you. I’m Oliver, and the boy on your left is my friend Harry. He is usually naughty and playful all the time. He does love learning new things like I do.”
James’ eyes widened in surprise until he replied back in an intrigued whisper, “Oh wow… that’s interesting… How old are you two?” he said.
Oliver didn’t even hesitate as he continued whispering, “I’m nine, and Harry is eight… “
James froze as he quickly began to wonder why Harry was too young to join their new school. He thought that he should’ve been younger, around grade one, instead of two.
James then spoke back in a curious, yet surprised whisper. “Wait… Harry.. Is eight years old..? I thought he was supposed to be in first grade at such a young age! That’s confusing!”
Oliver chuckled slightly as he continued whispering. “Yeah, I know. You might think he is nine years old at first, but in the end, you’ll soon realize if you just ask him this question.”
James took a moment to calm down, as he was beginning to think he had faith inside him. He thinks that his father is right; he needs to believe his father’s advice. He thinks that public school isn’t so bad after all.
So then, James and Oliver continued their quiet conversation happily. And in the end, James was happy that he was finally glad to make new friends. He thought that everything was going to be just right for him!
James thought that if his parents were watching him outside, they would’ve been proud of him because his first day wasn’t too bad after all. But feeling disappointed, he can still tell his parents on how his experiences went later on his way home. And with that day on, James finally learns how to overcome his fears in the real world; he knew the future was waiting for him because he had plenty of time to prepare and get ready to face hard challenges in his life – and with overcoming future challenges that get’s to him, he would show that he fears nothing anymore.
The end.
