The Causes of Global Warming

Global warming is an environmental issue that has been threatening our ecosystem for about a century. Global warming is the long-term warming of the planet’s overall temperature. It is an environmental issue that threatens the ecosystem, affects people’s health, destroys crops, affects rising sea levels, etc. But what causes it?

One reason for climate change is the extravagant use of power. Electricity and heat are generated by burning fossil fuels, which release up to 40% carbon dioxide (CO2) and toxic chemicals into the air. These chemicals form greenhouse gases that “blanket” the earth and trap the sun’s heat.

Another cause of global warming is deforestation.  Deforestation and the global loss of tropical forests contributed to around 4.8 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.  Trees absorb and store carbon dioxide, so when forests get cut down, there are fewer trees to absorb the carbon dioxide.

Manufacturing goods is another cause of global warming because it also releases toxic chemicals into the air. This is mostly from burning fossil fuels to produce energy for things like iron, plastics, electronics, etc. Other industrial processes, such as mining, also release gases.

Transportation also contributes to global warming. The average passenger vehicle emits 4.6 metric tonnes of CO2 per year. They mainly release carbon dioxide (CO2), but they also produce methane and nitrous oxide.

The bad disposal of waste is another reason for climate change. Solid waste contributes directly to greenhouse gas emissions. But it is not about the trash itself, but the way it is managed. There are many ways in which waste can affect climate change, such as burning trash, which releases toxic chemicals.

These are some of the main reasons for global warming and climate change. Because of them, global warming has worsened over the past few years and has led to many problems in our ecosystem. Hopefully, in the future, we can reduce global warming and save the environment.
