Science Fiction Writing Example: Anna’s Adventure To Another Planet

Anna, a famous scientist at the age of 24, has been working on a spaceship that will speed up the explorations of the astronauts. She has been dealing with this for a decade, and now it’s finally complete. Although it still needs some paint job, she took it for a test flight right away, and it went wonderfully. 

“This will definitely make explorations in space faster.” she said to herself.

Anna lives in the year 2048 and things have changed a lot. The continents are a little bit closer to each other now, and there are new oceans. Cars now can go up to a speed of 900 miles per hour. Houses can now fit two families inside. Clothes were now different in that they cannot be stained and can be washed easily. Skyscrapers were almost over clouds.

She gave her spaceship to NASA and also joined along the exploration.

“T-minus 10, 9, 8…….3 2 1 take off.” an astronaut said.

It took them a minute and they were already in space. The plan was to explore outside the Solar System. But to explore outside it they need to have as much fuel as possible to get outside and to go back to earth. Luckily, Anna made a big fuel tank inside the spaceship, and a supply of fuel at the back of the ship. They also need to track down the speed of the planets so that they don’t crash and just go straight, but they found a direction which they could go straight.

Days have passed since they left Earth, and they finally found an undiscovered planet. It was a light year away from Earth. But there was one problem, there are asteroids circling the planet. They could either find a new planet where they could land without a problem, or they could plan a route to land on the planet. But since their fuel supply was down to half, they have no choice but to land on the planet.

After some hours they landed and they were on top of a mountain. The gravity there was very low so they could jump so high. Around them were trees as tall as a hill, and their leaves as colorful as a rainbow. The ground here was as soft as sand, and it was a color green. They also found animals living on the planet. It was an amazing place.

“Wow, I can jump so high,” Anna said “the gravity here must be very low.”

“According to our gravity detector, the gravity here is 3.625 m/s².” said one of the astronauts

“The animals here are astonishing,” said another astronaut.

“Look over there!” an astronaut shouted, “the ground is shaking there.

Then suddenly, a giant worm came up from the ground. It was bigger than their spaceship. It had many sharp and venomous teeth. They tried to go back to their spaceship but the worm destroyed it. What should they do? Should they run away? Or should they try to fight the monster?

Anna had a small rover just enough to fit all of them. The rover flew and landed near them after their spaceship exploded. They quickly rode the rover and started going. The rover was going up to over 1000 miles per hour, all thanks to Anna’s powerful engine. A few minutes later the worm was nowhere to be seen.

“That was close,” an astronaut said to Anna “if it weren’t for your rover we would be dead by now.”

After that they called for help using a special gadget that can send signals from up to two light years away. The space station said that they will be there in around 3 days because Anna sent their coordinates to them and told them the fastest route to get here. 

The rocket finally arrived and Anna and the astronauts can go home now.

“Yey! We’re going home everyone.” Said Anna.

They all went home safely and they were on the news for their newly found planet, and also the giant worm. Anna now had a new goal and that is to learn the animals and the habitats of the planet.
