If you like books with funny pictures and hilarious characters, you might like the book “Captain Underpants” by Dav Pilkey.
It’s about two 4th-grade best friends named George Beard and Harold Hutchins, who accidentally hypnotized their grumpy principal, Mr. Krupp, using a “hypno-ring.”
Because of their daily mischief and troublemaking, Mr. Krupp now thinks he’s a superhero, and he tries to save the city. And that’s how Captain Underpants was made.
Captain Underpants is actually a character that George and Harold made in their comics, “The Adventures of Captain Underpants.” He’s a superhero who only wears underwear and a red cape, and he got his superpowers from a “Super Power Juice” from Mars. He’s cool because he has defeated a lot of villains like Dr. Nappy, Wedgie Woman, and even a reversed evil version of himself called Captain Blunderpants!
One of my favorite editions of this book is “Captain Underpants and the Revolting Revenge of the Radioactive Robo-Boxers,” the 10th novel made by Dav Pilkey.
It’s about George, Harold, and Captain Underpants discovering a time machine, and they time-traveled back to the Stone Age. There they got new cavemen friends.
But all the fun ended when Professor Poopypants appeared with a T-rex. Luckily, the cavemen planned using drawings because George and Harold taught them, and they successfully defeated the professor.
I really like this book because it is very creative and funny. It also has these animations called “Flip-o-ramas,” so when you flip two pages very quickly, the pictures appear to move. So if you are a fan of funny books, maybe you’ll like this one!
