**If you are wondering what a Paledread and a Dunedread is, they are just the aliens of this story**
**Any mention of non-human-like subjects (such as ‘Albino martian,’ ‘Otherworldly creepy-crawlies,’ and ‘Martian terrors) is referring to the Paledreads/Dunedreads**
A once great city, known as Melbourne, turned to shambles by addiction to technology. Many people envisioned a modern paradise, later to turn into ruins. In the midst of this ruin lived two roommates, Ayden and Robert, in one apartment. They were close friends and often went outside for walks and played basketball often on intact courts. They had an interest in astronomy and wanted to visit space someday.
“We have to focus on researching if we want to actually visit space,” Ayden told Robert.
They dedicated their time to astronomy and took breaks in between. Their dedication to getting into a rocket paid off. They applied to get into a rocket and succeeded.
They were heading to the Australian Space Agency until the most unexpected happens…
Three genetically modified gorillas jumped down from a nearby building, scaring the two friends. The two friends were being pursued by a group of strong apes; they found cover. While the gorillas were patrolling, the two friends were shocked by the recent encounter. They heard the loud roars from the band of apes in the distance. They had gifted them a potential death wish; something broke the silence of their area: Robert had burped.
“What was that for? ” Ayden asked.
“My bad,” Robert responded.
Robert had made a crucial mistake, which made apprehension fill their minds; this burp was so loud, it revealed their location. The tough apes started rushing towards the two adults. They couldn’t stay much longer or else the apes would throw a flurry of punches upon them. They ran for a while until a car hit the unsuspecting apes. A feeling of relief rushed into the friends minds.
After this awkward encounter with the apes, the two friends ended up walking into the Australian Space Agency for the biggest moment of their whole lives. They showed their application to enter and were let into the rocket. Ayden and Robert were suited with the suitable equipment for the long trip.
10.. 9.. 8.. 7.. 6.. 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. 1.. Lift off! They blasted away from Earth on a mission to explore Mars.
Ayden and Robert were bored on their 10-month journey; luckily, they brought their basic necessities for the long journey. They went through long conversations about what to do when they were there. They did regular everyday routines except for the fact that there was no gravity.
The two friends eventually arrived and they left the rocket looking sleep-deprived. They landed in the midst of a forest. It was very lush, reminiscent of a rainforest. It looked rather peculiar and the vegetation was a turquoise-blue. There were all sorts of fungi and spores. There was a breathable atmosphere, so they didn’t have to wear their suits. There was a fog as thick as smoke in the forest. They had to stay quiet; they had to make sure there was no danger. A feeling of dread sped through their brain; they knew something was near.
In the silence of the lush grove, the two friends were sneaking around. Unexpectedly, two white terriers came out of nowhere and ambushed the two friends. Luckily, the two friends have a high reaction speed and rushed right into the bushes. They lay low for a while until they heard a distorted call in the distance. The distorted call shook the two. They had made a blunder; Robert had done an ear-deafening fart.
“Are you doing this on purpose? ” Wondered Ayden
“Trust me, I’m not.” Robert replied.
Unfortunately, the albino Martians heard this loud fart. In a flash, many of the Paledreads rushed for a free meal. The silent swarm of creatures bashed into each other, which made them hostile towards one another. The two friends felt relieved but this wouldn’t last long… They ran towards the nearby desolate and barren red desert.
Ayden and Robert stumbled into the desert; it looked abandoned, but they couldn’t celebrate yet. They learned from the jungle and can’t trust this area for safety.
In the vast desert, the two wandered around in hopes of escape from their last encounter with Martian terrors. Something freakishly burrowed under the sand; the friends just didn’t know what. They slowly crept through the sand and did not make much noise; once again, Robert had farted. The enlarged, otherworldly, creepy-crawlies had just heard their next prey. It also set off the monstrosities from the jungle.
“Uh oh,” Ayden reacted
A Dunedread was closing in on them. Fortunately, the white terror crashed into the worm, leaving the two alive. More of the colourless Martian terrors came, thinking the oversized worms were the humans they sought after. They went around the danger zone and went back into the jungle for their rocket. They made it inside and attempted to go back to their home.
After their many near-death experiences, they return to their rocket. They fly back to the massive junkyard known as Earth. A few seconds later, misfortune strikes them; their rocket explodes for unknown causes. They are never recognised for their efforts at Mars, as they are not alive to tell their story. They died as unrecognised legends.
