Barn owls have many species from around thed. Twenty classified barn owl species are classified as of now.
They carry their prey in their beaks where others carry their prey in their talons.
What is the animal’s habitat?
Barn owls live in grasslands, deserts, marshes, and agricultural fields.
They are found in these lands around the USA and South America. They can also be found in Asia, Australia, Spain, Sweden even up to Russia, but not in Antarctica.
1 Physical characteristics
They are silent at night but mostly nocturnal and they are ghostly pale. Female barn owls weigh 10 grams more than males. They have heart-shaped faces and short legs and reversible toes
3 Natural selection
Like all owls, they are active at night, and they eat rabbits and other prey, but they make sure that they do not eat infected prey, for they may contain parasites like flukes, tapeworms, or spiny-headed worms.
If available, they will eat lizards, amphibians, or fish and insects, but they usually eat mice, muskrats, and hares.
Snowy Owl
They are camouflaged in the snow so they can sneak up on prey unseen. They are solitary and tend to live alone. They weigh 1.6 to 2.9 kilograms and their hearing can detect up to half a mile away.
What is the animal’s habitat?
They live and nest in the Arctic Circle around the North Pole and in Arctic regions. They even live in central Russia, Scandinavia, the northern United States and Canada.

Snowy owls have black, white, and gray feathers. They have a slanted beak and 7-inch wingspan and are 4 feet tall.They are 27 inches tall
4 Natural Selection
Snowy owls do not use other feather colors to hunt down their prey. They hunt without being spotted because the prey doesn’t know that there is a hunter behind them. They are omnivores, which means they eat meat or fish.
